The Pea Pod - Ready for Release!
April and May are just around the corner...

Hello, my wonderful readers! As you can guess, I’ve been quite busy getting Fire in Flight ready for its release in May. The Kickstarter ended successfully, and I’ve already shipped out some of the rewards.
First, I’d love to share the paperback and hardcover proofs that came in recently!

Getting to hold my book for the first time was the best feeling in the world. I’ve spent over a decade working on this story, and I’m finally watching my dreams come to life this year.
And if you are interested, of course, I’m in the process of setting up Fire in Flight’s pre-orders! Fire in Flight is already available at some major retailers, like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and even Walmart.
I plan on announcing the pre-orders officially in the next few days, but you get the first look!
You can purchase the book directly from me (through Gemini Valley’s shop website), or you can buy it on Amazon, B&N, etc.
However, if you are interested in reading it for free, ARC applications are still open! I’ll be sending out another wave of ebooks towards the middle of the month. Just fill out the form below!
Fire in Flight Official Art - Shadows
As per tradition, I’m showing off some more official artwork, featuring Matt and the sniper (again)!
This piece was done by ComradeAcerbus on Tumblr (she also worked on two other previous artworks, as well).

Shadows - ComradeAcerbus
And of course, you all get to see it before I post it on social media at the end of the month!
I’m also fighting the temptation to share the other interior artworks for Fire in Flight, but I’ll hold back this time. Perhaps another time. I'm always going to have art to share, either way!
(Also, on a side note, I’m very disgusted by all the AI I’ve been seeing lately, especially in the book community. If there’s one thing that will turn me away from a book, it’s if there is any AI involved. And that even includes “official” artwork.)
Always say “NO” to AI!
On another note, Fire in Flight is available on Goodreads! Feel free to add it to your collection!
Book Shoutouts
Hail the Rising Tides - Kat Kraehen
Time for more book shoutouts! First up is Hail the Rising Tides by Kat Kraehen, which is releasing on April 7th, 2026!
Hail the Rising Tides is a romantic fantasy that focuses on an ongoing conflict between the Moon Goddess and the Sun God. Queer forbidden love meets elemental magic when priestess Ione, the mortal vessel of the moon goddess, must save her people from the sun god’s army of pyromancers - a harrowing fate made far worse when she falls in love with one of the pyromancers she must kill.
Book Blurb:
Prim and prideful Ione possesses the Moon Goddess's spirit and a harrowing fate: overpower the wrathful Sun God and sweep His murderous pyromancers into the sea. But attaining divine ascension is easier said than done, and the longer Ione takes to save her people, the more impatient her conniving archpriest becomes. Quiet, distrusting Lina has had more than enough of bloodshed. After escaping immolation by Sun-worshipers, she gains a new lease on life as a nameless acolyte of the Moon Goddess. That is until she catches the eye of Lady Ione, whose captivation with Lina has caused the Goddess to stir within her for the first time. As temples burn and Ione's archpriest launches treacherous gambits of his own, Ione and Lina's alliance deepens into something neither of them anticipated. If Ione's enemies reach her before she can awaken the Moon Goddess, everyone she loves will go up in flames. But if she succeeds, the Sun cult will be annihilated - including Lina, whose past as a Sun priestess cannot remain hidden forever.
Obsessed with the artwork as well! Be sure to check it out before it releases!
Of course, this isn’t the only book shoutout today!
Kingdom of Scales & Fury: The Journey West - Rachel Slater
Kingdom of Scales & Fury: The Journey West is an epic fantasy adventure that focuses on two cousins embarking on a long journey to retrieve an ancient scroll for their people. I’ve already had the privilege of reading this book, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for their next fantasy read!
The book is available now!
Book Blurb:
With the threat of war and looming bounties over their heads, Tarn, the heir to the draconic kingdom, and her cousin, Cryo, are tasked to retrieve an ancient scroll crucial to the world’s survival.
Their perilous adventure holds dark threats, road blocks, and the discovery of age-old relics... forcing them to break rules and seek help from unexpected allies. All the while, things unravel at the seams back home.
Upon their return, Tarn attempts to settle back into her everyday routine – only to face chaos and destruction that will change her life forever.
